Outstanding Stability

Focused drive power, better cornering and better stability in all driving conditions. This integrated system works through a combination of Active Yaw Control (AYC), Active Stability Control (ASC) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

Better roadholding

Active Yaw Control (AYC)

Active Yaw Control is a unique system which we invented. It improves cornering by using the brakes to optimally distribute torque to the left and right wheels. So even if you brake or accelerate too hard, you still maintain control.

Stability in all conditions

Active Stability Control (ASC)

Active Stability Control uses sensors to analyse the vehicle’s motion and identify any unstable movement. It then automatically distributes torque and braking power to the left or right wheels to maintain stability.

No locked brakes

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

The Anti-lock Braking System is designed to prevent skidding. It works by stopping the wheels from locking up during braking, so they're always in contact with the road surface.

3 DRIVE MODES

Get greater traction in an instant

Under certain driving conditions –snow-covered roads for example – you might want to enhance the Eclipse Cross's off-road traction even further. All you need to do is turn the Drive Mode Selector switch to the required setting. Choose between 3 modes: Normal, Gravel and Snow.

All roads

Best for: solid 4WD performance on various roads.

Unpaved roads

Best for: smooth and stable driving on unpaved roads.

Snow or icy roads

Best for: more stability and security on slippery roads.

1.5L DIRECT INJECTION TURBO ENGINE

100 years of engineering know-how

We’ve been creating advanced automobiles for over 100 years. The newly-developed 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine with direct fuel injection is a case in point. Although smaller in size than previous models, it's more responsive with the punchy acceleration and the level of torque you’d find on much bigger 2.4L engine. It's also more fuel efficient, so it's better for your pocket and the environment.

FINE-TUNED SUSPENSION

Smooth, stable handling

The suspension on the Eclipse Cross has been fine-tuned to offer stable, smooth handling without compromising comfort. For those of you interested in the technical details, at the front is a MacPherson strut with stabiliser bar and at the rear is a multi-link trailing arm with stabiliser bar.

AUTO STOP AND GO SYSTEM (AS&G)

Reduce fuel waste and emissions

The Auto Stop & Go System shuts off the engine at traffic stops, cutting fuel waste and CO2 emissions without disrupting the electronic systems. The engine restarts immediately, so you’ll never be left waiting.
